Lego gun

A guy (geek / psycho? Lol), " Jack Streat ", apparently, has reproduced an incredible arsenal of weapons in Lego pieces.

I do not know how he did it, but the result is quite impressive!

Do something with your name!

Come on, now it's decided, I will try to revive my blog!

I present to you a great site that I discovered lemon squeezer : The anagram generator ! You enter your name and it makes a fun phrase :)

It's completely stupid, it does absolutely nothing, and is therefore totally necessary ..

Environment: Turn off the computer saves the planet

On the official Google blog, a section deals with a project to reduce CO2 emissions directly related to the use of computers.

Every geek in the land could thus prevent the emission of half a tonne of CO2 and save $ 60 (~ € 46) of energy. How to proceed? Here are the tips of the " Climate Savers Computing Initiative ":

  • First, the supreme rule: configure power management on your computer (Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Power Options) as follows:
    • Turn off monitor: After 15 minutes maximum
    • Turn off hard disks: After 15 minutes maximum
    • Standby: 30 minutes maximum

      Option d'Alimentation Windows

      Windows Power Options

  • Then you have to respect the 10 commandments of the polar bear:
    1. Respect for the rule supreme above
    2. Do not use a screen saver. They used any more with the current screens and are more greedy than the outright extinction of the screen when not in use.
    3. Check the label "Energy Star" when buying a new computer.
    4. Reduce the brightness of your screen. A screen set to maximum brightness consumes two times more than a screen with brightness set to minimum.
    5. Consolidate all the connections of your system (CPU, monitors, printers, etc.). On multi taken you off when you finish using your computer.
    6. Turn off devices that you do not use (printers, scanners, etc.)..
    7. Use laptops rather than desktops. They consume less.
    8. Turn off your computer when not in use. (The rest is a bit far-fetched, but hey they wanted probably have 10 points ...)
    9. Buy a measuring instrument to compute the energy actually saved.
    10. To create multiple profiles for power management in Windows (on the screenshot above, the insert is "Supported Power Management).

Here you have all the balls to save the ice :)

For information, a video contest is organized on the subject ($ 5,000 to win). Find out here .
